onto Manchester

On Monday we left out mooring at Furvess vale and heading for Marple and down the Marple 16 locks on the way down i spotted a few different stone mason marks  each mason would have a different mark so they could tell who had done which stone at end of week so they could get paid

there was a good lock with a bridge just before it

we moored up just outside Hyde. over the last few weeks we have been making a back cover for  the boat and was able to Finnish it in the afternoon

also Tina finished off her first rag rug

Tuesday we left our mooring and heading for Dukinfield junction  which the junction of three canals the Peak forest /Ashton and Huddersfield canals  we moored up at the junction  on the way we saw this kingfisher

Wednesday we heading down the Ashton canal towards Manchester   we had 18 locks to go down  the weather was not good  but we kept going   as we went down we passed the home of British cycling

and then we went pass the other football team in Manchester's ground

home of man city
as we were getting near Manchester new building started popping up

this is a old mill made into up and coming flats

as we went further down we came across a marina called New Islington
but you can not moor in the basin off the Ashton canal  we had to go down to the bottom and then up two locks on the Rochdale canal   (but very worth it )
 visitor mooring (14 days )

the building is the boaters hut with washing machine /toilets /showers and even a real log fire
