National Memorial Arboretum

hi all ,we just like to thank you all for reading our life's on the cut and some of the comments some of you make thanks .
so what have we been up to since our last blog Tuesday we moored up at Hopwas we have moored here before it is a nice mooring ,Tina got her hair cut by the floating hairdresser . on Wednesday we heading off to Fradley Junction we stayed here on Thursday Tina use the laundry at the Swan inn and in the evening we went to the The Swan for a meal with Ken and Chris from NB Blackbird (thanks for a enjoyable evening).
Friday we heading off once the rain had stopped we set off got to Alrewas and the weather was looking like it was going to rain so we moored up and had some lunch . after lunch we went off to the shops on the way there we saw this sign on a notice board

so i said it cannot be far lets go so off we went it took us about half hour to get there ,



We went inside and were told that the Duke of Gloucester was here with the Canadian Air force and there was going to me a fly pass by a spitfire

we only stay a few hours put it was enough time to make our minds up we will be back a very moving place
as you can see by the last few photos it rained very hard while we where there and we got wet go we got the bus back to the boat
Saturday we left Alrewas and heading towards Burton upon Trent as we been here before we kept on going only to find a hire boat right across the canal but the got it under control and the other side of them was NB Bide your time

which we had meet in Leicester in march they are heading for the Caldon canal might see them when we head that way
we stopped at Willington for the night that was 12miles 6 locks a bit to much in one day
Sunday we left Willington and heading for Swarkestone lock this is were the Derby canal once was
we moored up here and watch the GP
