from Ellesmere to Nantwich

Monday 19Th we stayed at Ellesmere today in the morning we had a walk round the town in the afternoon we had a walk over to The Mere on the way there we went up a mound which used to be a Norman motte and bailey but is now home of two crown bowling greens and is old of the oldest in the country next to this was st Mary’s church and square tower,

Also there is a sculpture trail which is good this one was done for 2011 called stairway to heaven

, there are quite a few more around the town it is worth checking  out the website .
also while walking round Ellesmere we came across this sign on the side of a house what does it mean ?

Tuesday we heading for the junction to Press Branch we did not leave Ellesmere till about 12 as it was raining in the morning, when we moored up we saw a fabulous sun set

Wednesday left our mooring about 10.30 it was a little windy but ok had to help a hire boat out which had gone aground and moored up just before Grindley locks, I filled up a few cans of fuel from the garage paid 79.5p/l not to bad at mo

Thursday we went down the locks after 9 quite a few boats still about we went back to Wrenbury which is a nice place to moor , Friday the weather was good and we had a lovely day on the cut and moor up just pass Platt’s bridge , in the afternoon I had a walk and came across this bear

Saturday we went down Hurleston locks and turned right back to Nantwich as Chris was coming up to see us, he got here in the afternoon it was good to see him
Sunday we stay at Nantwich as there was food and drink festival in the town it was very good lots of food to try while out we saw that there was a football game ALL STARS V MAN CITY /MAN UTD LEGENDS in the man utd team were Arthur Albiston, David May, Peter Davenport, Clayton Blackmore, and Frank Stapleton
Man city Andy Dibble, Nicky Summerby, Asa Hartford and a few more can you name them,

 it was a good game ending in a 3-3 draw
